Job Description
Our Client is seeking an experienced local Management Couple to oversee the full running and management of a Lodge (Comprising of 3 camps), Day Visitor area and Restaurant that caters for In house and day/walk in guests and tour groups. The couple will be required to manage the different facets and areas of the business fully to include Staff Management and Training, Stock Control and Ordering, Guest/Client/Patron Liaison, All administration and financial Controls, Front of House, Housekeeping, Reservations, Marketing, Activities Management (Horse Riding and Game Drives), Food and Beverage Outlet Management, etc. Previous experience within a similar role essential.
We are really looking for an extremely competent and qualified all-rounders to manage a lodge with very high standards! Couples who complement each other in the running of a successful game lodge are welcome to apply but unfortunately staff housing does not accommodate children or dependents.
Responsibilities:
The Lodge Manager must have:
- Strong integrity and character with similar values of honesty, and commitment to the job.
- Working knowledge of tourism, local cultures, conservation and maintenance
- Management and Training of Lodge staff in Front Office, Food and Beverage, guiding (FGASA), Housekeeping, 4×4 Driving, mechanical and technical applications according to set standards.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a professional attitude and an ability to work with different international cultures. Must be prepared to work varied and odd hours under pressure.
- Logistical arrangement skills
- Administrative skills, reporting, basic accounting, systems development, budgets, computer literacy.
- Effective financial management through the administration of orders and effective stock control
- Strength and experience in human resource management, Food & Beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, planning and organisation.
- General Marketing knowledge to be able to give beneficial input.
- Be able to embrace change and strategic development
- Conversational ability in English and siSwati.
- Familiarity with Eswatini and Labour Regulations
- Must be computer literate and have an unendorsed drivers’ licence.
Qualifications
Grade 12 and a Diploma in Hospitality Management. Valid code 10 driver’s license. Sound experience in Hospitality
Skills
Exceptionally versatile and able to compliment one another and the needs of the different areas of the business well. Proven track record in a Hospitality Management role. At least 5 years minimum lodge management experience. Sound Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Administration and Financial Competence). · Knowledge and experience of overall hospitality operations mainly in Housekeeping and Food and Beverage. Strong leadership and management skills with excellent Communication skills and very well spoken. Confident team Player with positive attitude, enthusiasm, and emotional control.
