Job Description
LODGE MANAGEMENT COUPLE: (or singles candidates will also be considered)
Operational Lodge Manager & Maintenance Manager.
Her: LODGE/OPS MANAGER
Duties: HR/ Strong Admin Skills/ Semper & Sage skills & checking reservations & accounts. Linking Reservations and Front & back office. Client & activity coordination. General lodge operations. Manage all staff, duties & shifts, time management. Serve & Host guests & guest liaison, Housekeeping checks etc. Ensure order and cleanliness of the lodge in general. Hosting and general assisting at the lodge in front and back of house. Work with F&B Manager/ Head Chef. Some purchasing. Stock takes. Curio shop stock takes & general lodge stock. Oversee Housekeeping & conduct daily room checks & inspections. Welcome guests on arrival to the lodge. Check-in guests to the lodge and all associated tasks. Check-out guests – ensure all extras have been billed for. Report on any lodge maintenance as needed & hand over to maintenance manager. Assist with any marketing related activities & ensure social media posts are quality assessed. Assist with any administrative task as needed by the owners or managers. Assume responsibility for all lodge related tasks. Assume responsibility for all F&B related tasks when the F&B manager is on leave. Assist with any administrative task as needed by the general manager or finance manager. Monthly reporting to be submitted timeously to owners. Ensure daily interaction and communications with in-house guests. Ensure all internal financial & admin controls and systems are in place and strictly adhered to. Overall responsibility for all human resources in the lodge. Daily meeting with the management team and Heads of Department to discuss the daily plan, including arrivals, departures, maintenance, food, special requests, bush banqueting. Over and above daily hosting of guests ensure you host all Agents, Media and VIP Groups. Co-operation with park rules and regulations, permits etc. Co-operation and collaboration with the Rangers. Coordinate Guest picnic bush lunches./ special occasions & private dinners. Ensure effective co-operation, collaboration and support with/to Lodge teams. Ensure all health and safety compliance standards, including Covid 19 Protocols. Oversee safety and security of all guests, lodge staff and company assets. Oversee conservation and sustainability efforts. Ensure all health and safety and risk protocols are met and maintained.
Him: MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Duties: Responsible for all maintenance: Basic knowledge of Plumbing, Electrics, Water pumps & systems, lodge repairs, Woodwork, basic building & repairs, grounds management. (No park management as we traverse in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park), stock takes of workshop. Control of diesel. Vehicle maintenance and checks, checking rangers vehicles & procedures to be followed.Must be self motivated & use initiative without being told what to check on. Hosting & bar duties & general assisting at the lodge when needed as back up.

Qualifications
Formal Hospitality and/or Maintenance qualifications are an advantage.
Skills
SKILLS: Must have had experience in 3-5 Star Lodges. Great people skills and good with staff. Adaptable to owners ethics and management style. Must be solid personalities, focus on hygiene & well presented. Preferably non smokers. (Covid vaccines are not mandatory until enforced by government).
Benefits
R20,000 - R30,000 gross per month- couple (R10,000 Maintenance & R10,000 / R15000 Lodge operations Manager), subject to experience and skill. 1 Bedroom cottage with open plan lounge & kitchen & outdoor patio. Meals provided on duty. Deductions: UIF, PAYE. Regret no couples with children.
