Account Manager (Mining)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Experience Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience
  • Key issues identified include being customer conscious and fulfilling customer requirements
  • Key opportunities identified include purchasing of new equipment, machine rebuilds & opening of new shafts which must be reported to Senior Management within 48 hours
  • Manage relationship with Mine management & head office on a daily basis
  • Organise an account meeting landscape monthly
  • Set priorities within the account on a monthly basis & must be signed off by Sales Director or CEO
  • Profitability of account margins
  • Proficiency in account deliverables
  • Manage account receivables (<5%) and DSO (<30 days)
  • Campaigns on new products & needs
  • Regularly monitor back order list, parts, subs (R&R and CEP) and expedite proactively (also frequently inform customer)
  • Expedite quote approval
  • Drive outstanding service exchanges at the mine
  • Co-ordinate the warranty claim process
  • Prepare & manage scope of work for new, rebuilds & projects until completion
  • Liaise with workshop Manager on rebuilds and OE build status
  • Co-ordinate the final sign off and machine build inspections (safety documents, parts books etc)
  • Expedite response to breakdowns and communicate progress to customers
  • Expedite parts & SUBS
  • Selling & marketing
  • Drive service levels and customer demands by working closely with customers
  • Manage customer expectations & queries
  • Work with internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of all orders
  • Identify and grow opportunities within client’s base through account planning.
  • Communicate telephonically daily with field service technicians & supervisor
  • Follow correct procedure when requesting field service on your mine (All requests are to be sent through to Field Service Supervisor or Field Service Manager should the Supervisor not be available who will in turn allocate a Field Service Technician as soon as one is available)
  • Show respect to field service technicians and internal line managers in manner in which issues are addressed
  • Account Managers work flexi hours due to the mines working different hours. A minimum of 7 hours to be worked each day which excludes 1 hour travelling time.
  • Weekly report to be completed and must be submitted electronically by no later than Monday to Supervisor. This must be done on a weekly basis
  • You represent the company at all times and as such professionalism is required from everyone.

  • Valid Trade Certificate / Red seal
