Accountant

POSITION INFO:
My client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial procedures and be adept at handling various accounting responsibilities.

This role is based in Wadeville, Johannesburg East.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compile monthly reports on wage workers hours per division.
• Analyze and correct general ledger allocations as needed.
• Prepare monthly financial forecasts and management statements.
• Complete CAPEX documents and prepare payment packs for suppliers.
• Update and correct unit of measure (UOM) and inventory costs.
• Issue expense stock to various divisions and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset registers.
• Review depot queries and assist with creditor reconciliations for export divisions.
• Monitor order supply progress and provide internal audit support, including depot audits and stock take verification.
• Assist with stock takes, generate variance reports, and confirm results in the system.
• Circulate daily goods in transit reports and monitor monthly stock takes for all divisions.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles (non-negotiable).
• 3+ years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
