SUMMARY:
Remote Part Time work opportunity for accountant in Gauteng

POSITION INFO:

An old age care centre in Alexandra are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Registered Accountant to prepare and organize accounting records for submission to external auditors.

The work would be able to be done on a remote basis on a remote part time basis , probably 10 hours a month.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all financial records are accurate, complete, and in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting Records Preparation:
• Review and compile all financial documents and records for the accounting period.
• Ensure that financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements are accurately prepared.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
2. Audit Preparation:
• Coordinate with auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation as required by auditors.
• Address auditor queries and provide additional information as needed.
3. Compliance and Reporting:
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
• Prepare and submit required financial reports and statements to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and adjustments.
4. Financial Analysis:
• Conduct preliminary financial analysis to identify any anomalies or areas of concern.
• Provide recommendations for improving financial processes and controls.
5. Record Keeping:
• Maintain organized and secure filing systems for financial records.
• Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and readily accessible.

Qualifications:

• Education: Accounting Qualification and a practising member of a professional body such as CIBA
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with experience in preparing records for audits.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with auditors and internal stakeholders.
