JOB DESCRIPTION:

Main purpose of the job:

  • To operate the switchboard and receive customers or employees, determine their needs and direct them accordingly

Location:

  • Helen Joseph Hospital, Johannesburg

Key performance areas:

  • Assist with printing, copying, and shredding documents
  • Create and maintain manual filing systems
  • Ensure a clean, organized environment
  • Process electronic and manual payments
  • Book the next appointment for trial participants
  • Update the participant information on the CHRU database
  • Receive and distribute all courier parcels
  • Medical aid billing
  • Update daily excel spreadsheets with trial participant information
  • Manage the Reception area and notify staff if there are visitors
  • Answering phone calls and the noting of messages where needed
  • Answering the phone and taking messages when staff is not available
  • Act in a professional and friendly manner in all dealings with internal stakeholders
  • Show a high level of customer centricity at all times

Required minimum education and training:

  • Grade 12

Required minimum work experience:

  • Minimum 1-year experience as an Administrator and/or Receptionist. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Certification in good clinical practice

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

  • A dynamic and compatible personality able to deal with customers at all levels
  • Communication and interpersonal skills of the highest quality
