SUMMARY:

An established international manufacturer of agricultural products is seeking the above to drive the execution of a next-generation Africa Crop Science Product Supply stewardship compliance program, by managing a dedicated compliance and stewardship project plan for Row Crop seeds in Africa.

JOB DESCRIPTION:


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Product Supply, Stewardship, Breeding, Market Development, Regulatory, Quality/ Risk Management or Compliance or related field will be required
  • Experience with Row Crops species in Africa will be a distinct advantage
  • Must be fluent in English and knowledge of local languages will be ideal
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within an organization to facilitate implementation of new or improved business processes and systems is essential
  • Must be a self-motivated, strategic thinker who is process oriented, systematic in approach and has an operational understanding of compliance management systems
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Securing the License to Operate in Africa.
  • Implementing and maintaining stewardship programs in all regulated and de-regulated GM traited markets as well as conventional seed production, e.g. Excellence Through Stewardship (ETS).
  • Supporting internal sites, toll production and licensing business as needed.
  • Expanding complex African regions by implementing compliance and stewardship processes in Kenya for successful and sustainable launch of traited business.
  • Influencing and driving Stewardship and Compliance throughout product life cycle for Product Supply Africa, from pre-foundation production to commercial, from field production through processing, quality testing and logistics processes.
  • Preventing issues in Product Supply which may lead to adverse/business blocking situation by authorities.
  • Acting as First Point of Contact for any compliance incidents in the Cluster for Product Supply related issues.
  • Reporting issues to Regional and Cluster Regulatory Stewardship Managers, supporting incident investigations and ensuring the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Maintaining a high level of training throughout Product Supply organization in the Cluster for Stewardship procedures aligned with ETS and training requirements.
  • Working closely in cross-functional partnership with Regulatory Science, Regulatory Stewardship, Quality Testing, Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, Quality Excellence as well as Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Logistics and Trade and Compliance functions.
  • Driving sustainable and compliant strategy, influencing business decisions to secure sustainable success.
Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience
