As an Animal Nutrition Sales Representative, you will drive the sales of animal nutrition products, nurture existing relationships, and develop new business opportunities. You’ll provide tailored solutions to clients, expand market reach, and contribute to the long-term objective of progressing into pasture sales in the region. Expertise in pastures on dairy farms is key to supporting our client’s needs and driving growth in your territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement: Manage the full 360° sales process, from identifying client needs to closing sales and providing post-sale support. Maintain and grow an existing client base while building new relationships.
- New Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, expand our client’s presence, and develop strategies to grow market share and meet sales targets.
- Product Expertise and Market Support: Provide expert advice on animal nutrition products and expand knowledge into pasture products. Use your knowledge of pastures on dairy farms to offer specialised solutions to clients. Stay informed on market trends and competitor activities.
- Territory Management: Organise sales activities aligned with seasonal demands and customer segmentation. Ensure full territory coverage, travelling between Knysna and Swellendam to meet with clients.
- Reporting and Administration: Accurately report client interactions and sales activities via CRM tools. Assist with stock management and forecasting to meet customer demand.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience: Qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field (e.g., B.Com/B.Sc).
- Proven experience in sales, particularly in animal nutrition or related agricultural sectors.
- Strong knowledge of pastures on dairy farms is essential.
- An existing network in the agricultural sector is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of animal nutrition products, with a willingness to expand into pasture sales.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and sales skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
