Position: Artisan Assistant

Overview:
A leading food manufacturer seeks an Artisan Assistant to support maintenance operations in a 24/7 production environment. The role involves assisting fitters and electricians with repairs, machining, and equipment maintenance. Candidates should live within 30 km for quick site access.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with machine repairs, welding, fitting, and assembling components.
• Operate and maintain equipment (e.g., conveyors, pumps, pipelines, boilers).
• Perform lathe work, tuning, and machining.
• Adhere to safety standards and complete documentation.
• Operate moving equipment (e.g., forklift, reach truck) and have the adequate certification

• Grade 12 or N3 or N5 
• South African 
• Clear Criminal Record 
• Trade Test will be preferred ( Electrical or Mechanical or Electromechanical )
• 2+ years maintenance experience in the food industry 
• Boilers is imperative 
• Welding is imperative 
• Lathe work is imperative 
• Experience with welding, machining, and lathe work.
• Own transport and ability to work overtime/call-outs.
• Must have a drivers License

• Market-related hourly wage.
