SUMMARY:
Our client in the mining industry is seeking an Artisan Fitter and Turner, to join their team in Phalaborwa, Limpopo.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position: Artisan Fitter and Turner
Industry: Mining Industry
Location: Phalaborwa, Limpopo
Salary: Market-Related Salary

Purpose of the position:

Carrying out Mechanical Maintenance.
Repairing and fabrication work and machining tasks in the manufacture and repair of production and non-production equipment from the plant and mine within the Fitter workshop environment and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Trade Test Certification Fitter and turner.
NTC3/ NTC 6
MS Office
Maintenance based software will be an advantage.

Experience:

3- 5 years ‘ relevant experience after completion of Trade Test in maintenance and repair in a machine workshop in the mining industry.

Responsibilities

Carrying out maintenance and repair fabrication tasks as delegate using typical machine equipment such a lathe , bearing machines , milling machines, etc.
Performing critical tasks according to safe work procedures.
Reporting equipment defects as soon as they are identified.
Operating mobile equipment.
Ensured compliance to safety regulations as well as Companies policies and Procedures.
Ensured attendance to critical meetings.
Attending to maintenance , breakdowns, alterations, and new installations in area of responsibilities.
Effective completion of tasks.
Inspecting equipment and identifying potential irregularities in responsibilities.
Maintaining good labour relationships within sections.
Striving to identifying cost down initiatives.
Writing of routine and ad-hoc reports and work order feedback.
Performing safety inspections and report as required.
