SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established Manufacturing and Retail Group seeks an experienced Assistant Accountant to assist the Finance Tram in preparing financial reports and conducting regular analyses. You should possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, love working with numbers and have a keen eye for detail.

POSITION INFO:
Job Requirements:

Degree in Accounting or Finance.
CIMA, an advantage.
Min 3 years experience as an Assistant Accountant in a demanding finance department.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Sage 300, and Pastel.

Competencies:

Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
Proficient with numbers and figures and analytical strength.
Keen eye for detail and meticulous.
Excellent organisational abilities.
Display a high level of meticulousness.

Responsibilities:

Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
Assist in compiling balance sheets, income statements and other financial reports.
Assist with reviewing expenses, payroll records, and other expenses against the budget.
Oversee stock counts and report on stock variances.
Update financial data in databases.
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
Prepare VAT recons & submissions.
Assist the team in preparing monthly/yearly closings.
Participate in various accounting projects as needed.
