SUMMARY:

We are seeking an Assistant Dairy Farm Manager for a permanent vacancy based approximately 40km outside East London, Eastern Cape

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

Experience in the dairy farm industry essential including knowledge of diseases, injury treatment, calf pulling and dairy nutrition
Animal husbandry skills and relevant prior work experience
Maintenance of farm machinery and equipment
Must be trained in artificial insemination
Knowledge of milking procedures as well as dairy herd improvement records
Good communication skills
Contactable references related to farming experience
Must be fluent in English with Xhosa speaking / understanding essential
Preference will be given to candidates who match the criteria and who are available soonest

Duties include, but not limited to :

Management of daily activities and implementing farm policies and plans
Staff control / management
Motivation of employees
Dairy farm control and management

Salary: Negotiable basic, with available accommodation
