Assistant Farm & Nursery Manager - Boland Region- R18, 000- R20, 000 per month
The core focus of this role would be to operate the irrigation and fertilization of the farmlands and general assistance on the operations of the farm and nursery.
Core Overviews:
- Irrigation operation
- Irrigation includes all maintenance of pipes, drippers, and equipment used for irrigation on the farm.
- Transporting and managing material
- Oversee workers/operations
Responsibilities:
- Maintain high occupational safety standards (Zero IODs)
- Maintain high work standards in a safe working environment.
- Maintain farmlands as specified by the Manager.
- Irrigating of farmlands.
- Monthly fertilization of farmlands and application of drip applied chemicals.
- Continuous monitoring and maintenance of irrigation equipment.
- Compile daily irrigation and fertilization checklists.
- Support and act as backup for Nursery/Farm Manager.
- Transporting and weighing in of Raw Materials.
- General assistance in tasks on the farm and monitoring and managing workers.
- Monitoring and reporting on the health of plants.
- Any other management task that may be reasonably requested.
- Bi-weekly stand-in weekend duty in Nursery.
- Promote discipline and responsibility to the workforce.
- Promote a culture of mutual respect, honesty, and self-discipline.
