Assistant Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
Our well established client within the logistics sector is looking to appoint a dynamic Assistant Financial Manager for their branch in Barkly-West.

POSITION INFO:

• Overseeing financial recording processes and preparation of monthly financial information up to trial balance
• Responsible for month-end and ad hoc journal entries and general ledger management
• Reconciliation of intercompany loans and transactions
• Overseeing month-end procedures and driving deadlines
• Reviewing creditor’s reconciliations and processes
• Ensuring timeous reconciliations of control accounts
• Assist with the management of debtor recoveries and help with overseeing of debtor’s function
• Responsible for recordkeeping of assets and capturing monthly depreciation journals
• Assist with management of inventory and responsible to oversee quarterly counts
• Completion and submission of statutory reports such as VAT and PAYE
• Assist with maintaining and improving all areas of internal control to ensure adequate risk management
• Assist the financial manager with compilation of annual budgets
• Assist with the preparation of yearly financial packs for the auditors
• Assist with the development of accounting systems and report writers to ensure accurate reporting
• Assisting the financial manager other tasks as may be needed or deemed fit after appointment
• Requirements:
• BCom degree (Not required)
• At least 5 years of work experience
• Excel advanced skills
