Assistant Plant Controller   CA(SA)

Our client in the Engineering sector is seeking a motivated and dedicated Assistant Financial Controller.  The Assistant Financial Controller’s role is to support the Plant Controller in managing the Finance team, implementing and maintain internal controls and reporting key plant performance information. The role includes management of objectives and targets for reports, whilst also ensuring development to achieve their personal and professional goals. As with all roles within the Finance department, the role will involve financial control support, taking on tasks assigned and standing in for the Plant Controller if and when necessary.

 

Qualifications:  CA(SA) Bcom - completed articles (Newly qualified)

Experience:      1 or 2 experience

Equity:             EE

Salary:             Market related.  Monthly

Industry:          Engineering:  Machinery / Supporting equipment

 

 

Responsibilities


  1. Engage with the Projects teams to ensure the following are done on time;
    • Projects cashflow for all projects are determined and well documented
    • The above information is populated into the company’s main cashflow document on a timely basis
    • The tooling profit schedule is updated and committed tooling profit is tracked to ensure these targets are achieved.
    • Tooling jobs are reviewed on a weekly basis to ensure items booked on the jobs are accurate and legit
  2. Calculate the weekly wages for permanents, update the company’s main cashflow document on time and accurately
    • Inform the Plant Controller if there is a trend of wages increasing on a weekly basis for her to investigate
  3. Manage 1pm cash spending document and have meeting with Plant Controller so a decision can be made if operations will have enough cash to spend for the month. Bearing in mind that all amounts to be spent must tie back to the Company’s main cashflow document
  4. Ensuring weekly stock counts are done by all warehouse owners. This includes;
    • Sending out monthly count schedule
    • Following up with warehouse managers to ensure all weekly counts are done
    • Reviewing and communicating any variances to the Plant Controller
  5. Participate in all stock takes the company has
  6. Do daily checks but not limited to the below
    • Checking all POs and Reqs have future dates before going home each day
    • Ensuring all stock in inspection are cleared before going home
    • Checking WIP AGE for accuracy, aging overall value
    • Ensuring schedule agreement numbers are correct for all finished parts
    • Ensuring EDI is cleared daily
  7. Any other duties that the Plant Controller may assign if/when necessary
  8. Stand in for the Plant Controller if/when necessary
