Assistant Resident Engineer

SUMMARY:
We are looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer for a 2 year contract based in Northern Cape.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:
- Overall on-site responsibility to ensure the contractor adheres to the client's production requirements and design specification.
- Basic Contract administration, monitor and report on the various stages of Projects, quality control and Project specific Quality.
- Management System, Site related liaison with the Client, Engineer, specialists, community and Contractors
- Capture and report on all progress related activities typical to a large wastewater treatment works
- Assist the Engineer in preparing and adjudicating claims and extension of time.
- Assisting the Engineer in collecting the necessary information required in the event of a claim being instituted by a Contractor including Variation Orders.
- Write and distribute site meeting minute.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly progress, quality and cost reports for submission to the Client.
- Work independently and in a team environment.
- Candidates must be able to operate and communicate via Smart devices etc.
- Candidates will be expected to work with and in line with contractors and their programmed schedules.

Qualifications & Experience 
- A National Diploma in Civil Engineering,
- A minimum of 5 years' experience
- Suitable candidate must have a valid drivers license and own vehicle

Requirements:
- Proficient in Windows Office (Excel & Word as a minimum)
