CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

 

Co-ordinate and facilitate client accessibility to campus specific, functional and appropriate audio-visual equipment.

 

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

 

 

  • ·       Provide technical consulting and user support on the on-site AV/Media equipment
  • ·       Co- ordination of the temporary redistribution of loan pool equipment to supplement sites requiring additional equipment for short periods
  • ·       Ensure that the media assistant delivers in terms of agreed upon minimum standards and timeliness daily
  • ·       Operate certain AV/Media equipment for clients if so required
  • ·       Set up and fine tuning of permanent sound systems on campus for special events
  • ·       Regularly inspects all lecture venue equipment and report damages to the Senior Media Officer
  • ·       Provide afterhours function support when required
  • ·       Make video recordings of special events, lectures, etc. when required
  • ·       Basic maintenance is conducted by attending to equipment breakdowns on site, retrieval of faulty AV/Media equipment and arrange for replacement equipment to be made available
  • ·       Supports technology rollout projects
  • ·       Supervise and ensure Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) compliance
  • ·       Remaining up to date with technologies employed by the University through training
  • ·       Assist users with online meetings and lectures (Teams, Zoom etc.)
  • ·       Assist on other campuses when needed as determined by the Senior Media Officer.

  • Proven ability to provide user support on audio-visual technologies;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as a member of a team;
  • Possess strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills;
  • Good understanding of industry trends in audio-visual technologies;
  • Ability to perform under pressure;
  • Good problem-solving skills and recommend audio-visual technology solutions
