Job Description

Our client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team.

Purpose is to provide financial information to management, staff and external sources and to support the Procurement, Project Management and Admin functions
Prepares asset, liability and capital entries by compiling and analysing account information

• Documents financial transaction by entering account information into Pastel and IT related systems
• Recommends financial actions by analysing accounting options
• Summarises current financial status by collecting information, preparing monthly management accounts (balance sheet, profit and loss statement) and other reports
• Management of working capital
• Preparation of weekly cash flows to understand the business cash requirements
• Supports the project management team with regards to revenue and supplier payment forecast.
• Responsible for preparing and submission of statutory returns – vat, PAYE, UIF, SDL, tax, etc
• Substantiates financials transactions by auditing documents
• Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requests for disbursements
• Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy, standards and regulations
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analysing and summarising account information and trends
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies
• Responsible for managing the audit review process

Qualifications

BCom in Finance or Accounting.
