BUYER (INDUSTRIAL HARDWARE) – EAST RAND (3509)

**Candidates who have experience in other industries will not be considered for the position. **

 Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / equivalent
• A completed degree or diploma in Purchasing will be and added advantage

 Experience and requirements:

• 5 or more years’ recent experience as an Industrial Hardware Buyer within a large organisation with a multi branch network. (Welding equipment and accessories, grinding equipment, gate motors and accessories, industrial fasteners, industrial paint, locks, electrical tools relating to steelwork
• Strong product sourcing and negotiating skills
• Advanced computer skills on Syspro (or a related ERP System) and Excel “V- Lookup”
• Reside on the East Rand
• Have reliable transport
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• A stable work record and contactable references
• Sound product knowledge: Industrial Hardware and DIY related products
• Able to work independently and under pressure
• Strong buying, sourcing, and negotiating skills
• Maintain accurate records and assist with admin related duties
• Set and control budgets and targets per supplier
• Conduct market research
• Negotiate rebates
• A strong personality and able to work long hours when required
• Deal with queries (investigate and solve)
