Banqueting Manager
A luxury full-service hotel in Cape Town is seeking an experienced, customer-centric, and highly organized Banqueting Manager to oversee all conference and banqueting outlets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event coordination, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute banquets, conferences, weddings, and other events, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional service.
- Supervise, train, and motivate the banqueting team to maintain high service standards.
- Liaise with clients to understand their event requirements, provide expert guidance, and ensure expectations are exceeded.
- Manage the setup, service, and breakdown of events to ensure efficiency and smooth operations.
- Maintain consistently high food, beverage, and service standards.
- Manage and monitor budgets, control costs, conduct monthly OS&E stock takes, and track daily revenue and DCP charges.
- Work closely with the sales team to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Ensure adequate stock levels of banqueting supplies and equipment.
- Comply with food safety, hygiene, and occupational health regulations.
Requirements
- SA Citizen.
- Proven experience as a Banqueting Manager or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience in a 5-star or high-end event/banqueting managerial position.
- Strong knowledge of PMS systems, including Opera S&C and Micros.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
- Knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Own, reliable transport is essential.
