POSITION INFO:
ASSEMBLY OF THE FOLLOWING EQUIPMENT:
• Assembly of electric motors including brake motors.
• Assembly of W units from sub-assemblies and related components.
• Assembly of worm drive geared motors from either built up or off the shelf gearboxes and motors.
• Configuration and transformation of MVF products according to input, output, and mounting requirements.
• Assembly of mechanical variable speed geared motors.
• Assembly of double reduction gearboxes and geared motors.
• Assembly of A C F & S units to size 60.
BASIC LIFE SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Academic qualification comprising a matric or similar NQF certificate.
• Suitable technical skills from previous employment or on the job training.
• A working knowledge of the operation of computers.
• Ability to work in a systematic and ordered fashion.
• A proactive approach which ensures that work areas are maintained in a clean neat and safe condition.
• A knowledge of statutory and company rules and procedures as they apply to the workshop and assembly function.
• An understanding the importance of quality.
• An understanding of the OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) Act.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to read workshop orders, picking tickets & assembly instructions.
• Ability to identify components with component descriptions and verify by measurement processes.
• An understanding of the catalogue in terms of product descriptions and configurations.
• Some knowledge in the proper use of basic tooling including air tools.
• Ability to use simple measurement equipment including verniers.
• A detailed knowledge of quality steps and procedures applicable to the respective assembly Processes.
• Able to use the Assembly machines.
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
• A knowledge of the products referred to in the scope of work.
• A knowledge of the assembly of basic geared motors including dressing of shafts torquing of fasteners and mounting of input.
• Knowledge of electric motors in terms of KWs, Poles, type & frame sizes.
• Ability to read and understand attributed part numbers and assemble the units according to their designation.
• The ability to read the catalogues and maintenance manuals in terms of oil fill quantities and positioning of breathers.
• An ability to read and apply ratio charts.
