Our client is seeking a BayGrow Manager to join their organization based in Port Elizabeth.

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum tertiary qualification of Honours / Master’s Degree in Development Economics/Management.
  • At least 6 years’ experience in business management with an economic development flair is desired.
  • Research knowledge and experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge in Project Management/Economic development Indicators is useful.
  • Knowledge of the policy environment particularly the economic policy, industry, and dynamics.
  • Knowledge of trade promotion issues and government trade policies/incentives is advantageous.
  • Track record of successfully leading a team.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills and ability to effectively collaborate with other organizations.
  • Good writing skills and ability to write up reports and provide formalized feedback to key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement the BayGrow.
  • Providing business intelligence and data-driven solutions for businesses immediate, short- and long-term needs.
  • Providing financial and non-financial support to businesses through the Entrepreneurship Desk.
  • Providing support and a resolution rate of 90% on queries around the enabling environment through the Help Desk.
  • Task teams and coordination thereon.
  • Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management.
  • Develop and maintain the organisations intelligence platform by ensuring scheduled updating of business intelligence reports, dashboards, and databases.
  • Provide the business intelligence required by businesses for immediate, short, and long term decision making purpose in line with the prioritised research areas.
  • Conduct research amongst targeted economic sectors and membership clusters to provide data-driven strategies and projects.
  • Implement knowledge strategies that help to drive knowledge culture change across the organisation through the promotion of tools and processes which increase information flow and best practice sharing.
  • Assist the office of CEO/COO to interpret key economic data or research material in a manner that allows for cognizant economic decisions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor progress of elements of strategic projects which support the project coordinator’s objectives.
  • Research key economic trends within the region and nationally to understand the impact that this will have on the economic environment and the chambers cluster strategy.
  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders to identify knowledge management needs/requirements.
  • develop stakeholder engagement strategy. Initiate and lead cluster interactions to inform primary respondents of data requirements to improve the quality of the data collected. Submit regular reports and feedback to relevant stakeholders on progress of various clusters.
  • Provide Managerial Oversight.
  • SMME and Entrepreneurship Desk.
  • Plan and implement an SMME and Entrepreneurship strategy in line with the guidance from the Sub-Committee
  • Grow the SMME numbers and participation levels through the services and programmes offered.
  • On the Mentorship and Empowerment Circle programmes.
  • On the Enterprise and Exporters Development Programme.
  • Provide support and oversight on the ease of doing businesses Help Desk.
  • Ensure query resolutions as per agreed targets.
  • Ensure sustainable sponsorships are secured for the desk.
  • Provide support and oversight on the ease of doing businesses Help Desk
