POSITION INFO:

Job Description:
Manufacture, assemble, and weld storage tanks according to engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards
Perform regular inspections of completed tanks and components, ensuring all work meets safety
Utilize various welding techniques (TIG, MIG, stick) and other metalworking skills to join, cut, and shape steel and other materials used in tank fabrication
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate storage tanks
Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications on existing storage tanks, ensuring continued safety, integrity, and optimal performance
Work closely with other trades, engineers, and project managers to ensure effective communication and the smooth execution of tank fabrication projects within deadlines
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper use of protective equipment
 
Skills & Experience:
Proficient in various welding techniques (TIG, MIG, stick) for strong, durable welds on steel and other materials used in storage tank fabrication
Extensive experience in fabricating, fitting, and assembling storage tanks with specialized tools and equipment
Knowledgeable in material selection and welding procedures to ensure the right choice for tank construction
Strong attention to detail, ensuring high-quality fabrication and welding that meets both functional and aesthetic standards.
Experience with fabricating pressure vessels and tanks that require specific regulatory certifications
Physically capable of handling demanding tasks such as heavy lifting, working in confined spaces, and standing for long periods
 
Minimum requirements
Boilermaker Trade Test
Minimum 2 years in storage tank fabrication
 
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
