Boilermaker

Our client has an opportunity available for a Boilermaker based in Aeroton.

Requirements:

• Matric with Mathematics.
• Qualified Boilermaker.
• Engineering studies would be advantageous.
• Computer literate.
• 2 years’ post trade experience.
• Manufacturing experience- essential.
• Sound knowledge of safety working procedures.
• Willing to work overtime and stand by.

Responsibilities:

• Complete routine inspections at the start of every shift.
• Rectify problems identified in routine inspections.
• Perform work as per planned maintenance schedules.
• Rectify breakdowns to restore plant run-ability.
• Engage in marking, drilling and tapping for new part manufacture and repair.
• Dismantle, recondition and re-assemble various mechanical engineering units when brought into the workshop for repairs.
• Read and interpret drawings.
• Develop equipment as per drawings and install equipment.
• Responsible for PM preparation and execution of work.
• Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping standards in workshops, workplaces and on operational units.
• Assist other engineering departments performing certain tasks.
• Maintain all company tools in good working condition and report all defective equipment to relevant Foreman.

This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract position.
