Our client is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their company

POSITION INFO:
Job Requirements

• Matric
• 2-3 years of experience in a Bookkeeping role 
• Must have experience with VAT, Pastel, Invoicing, UIF Processes, etc
• Knowledge of Pastel
• Reside in Port Elizabeth

Recording Financial Transactions:

• Recording all financial transactions, such as purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
• Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring that all entries are accurate and up-to-date.

2. Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Processing invoices and making sure bills are paid on time.
• Monitoring accounts receivable and following up on overdue payments.

3. Reconciling Bank Statements:

• Comparing bank statements with the company's ledger to ensure accuracy.
• Identifying and resolving discrepancies in the financial records.

4. Preparing Financial Reports:

• Compiling regular financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Assisting in preparing financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.

5. Payroll Processing:

• Calculating employee salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions.
• Ensuring timely and accurate payroll distribution and maintaining payroll records.

6. Maintaining Records and Documentation:

• Keeping detailed records of all financial transactions and supporting documents.
• Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

7. Assisting with Audits:

• Preparing documentation and records for internal and external audits.
• Assisting auditors by providing necessary financial data and clarifications.

8. Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assisting with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Monitoring budgets and highlighting any variances.

9. Compliance with Tax Regulations:

• Preparing and filing tax returns, including sales tax, income tax, and payroll tax.
• Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations.

10. Managing Petty Cash:

• Overseeing petty cash accounts and ensuring proper documentation for all expenditures.

11. Liaising with Accountants and Financial Advisors:

• Coordinating with external accountants or financial advisors for complex financial tasks.
• Providing necessary data and reports for financial analysis and planning.
