Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
A client of ours within the construction sector is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team

POSITION INFO:
Location:
Lanseria- Johannesburg 

Requirements:

• National Senior Certificaate
• Post-matric qualification essential
• 3-5 years experience in Bookkeeping
• Proficiency in Xero, Pastel VIP, and Payroll
• Bookeeping up to Trial Balance

• Journal Entries: recording all financial transactions
• Categorizing Transactions: Properly classifying transactions into categories like revenue, expenses, liabilities, and assets to ensure accurate financial reporting

• General Ledger Management: maintains the company’s general ledger, which is the primary accounting record. This involves updating and reconciling accounts regularly to reflect accurate balances.
• Posting Entries: Recording transactions in the general ledger, ensuring all data is entered correctly and organized by account type

• Bank Reconciliation: Ensuring that the company's financial records match those of the bank. This involves comparing the company’s bank statement with the general ledger to identify discrepancies and correct errors
• Credit Card and Other Account Reconciliation: Reconciling other financial accounts, including credit card statements, petty cash, and loans, to ensure they align with the company's records

• Managing Accounts Payable (AP):  track amounts owed by the business to suppliers, vendors, and other creditors, ensuring that bills and invoices are paid on time.
• Managing Accounts Receivable (AR): They track outstanding amounts owed to the company by customers, issue invoices, and ensure timely collection of payments

• Income Statement: Bookkeepers may assist in preparing income statements (profit and loss statements) that show the company’s revenue, expenses, and profitability
• Balance Sheet: They help prepare balance sheets, which summarize the company's assets, liabilities, and equity at a specific point in time

• Preparing for Audits: help prepare the company’s financial records for audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
• Cooperating with Auditors: During the audit process, work with external auditors to answer questions and provide necessary documentation
