Bookkeeper (Assistant to the FM)

SUMMARY:
Growing, specialist manufacturing company and part of a larger group, seeks a Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to assist the Financial Manager.

POSITION INFO:
Ideally a completed BCom or studying towards + 3-5 years’ relevant experience in a similar role. The candidate must have financial experience from a Manufacturing / FMCG type environment.
 
Duties will include the following:

1. Bookkeeping and Record Keeping - Record transactions; maintain general ledger; track expenses; reconcile accounts.
2. Assist with Financial Reporting - Prepare financial statements; assist in Month-End and Year-End close; Trial Balance preparation.
3. Accounts Payable and Receivable
4. Tax Preparation and Statutory returns compliance
5. Financial Analysis Support - Assist with Budgeting; prepare financial reports; data entry and analysis:
6. Payroll Assistance and maintain records
7. General Administrative Support
8. Collaboration and Communication and coordinate with other departments as required
9. Compliance and Internal Controls and assisting with Internal Audit

Required Skills and Qualities:

• Attention to Detail.
• Strong Organizational Skills
• Good Accounting Knowledge
• Good Communication Skills
• Proficiency in Accounting Software: Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Excel and ERP Accounting software
• Problem-Solving Skills.
