Education Requirements
- Minimum of a Matriculation / Grade 12 Certificate
- Formal Course in Pastel/Payroll or similar
- Formal Training in BuildSmart
General Description of Position
This position is responsible for assisting the Financial Manager by maintaining financial records.
The responsibilities of this position also include, inter alia:
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation
- Cash Book / Bank Reconciliation (to Trial Balance)
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements
- Overseeing client accounts
- Creating, sending and following up on invoices
- Updating financial records
- Collecting and reviewing data for reports
- Reporting discrepancies
Experience required:
- 3 to 5 years' Bookkeeping experience in a similar environment
- In-depth knowledge of financial management and taxation guidelines
- Ability to build relationships while asking tough questions
- Excellent written and oral communication ability, English and Afrikaans
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability with Buildsmart
- Advance Computer literacy – Microsoft Outlook (PowerPoint / Excel / Word / Email)
- Prior experience in a Bookkeeping role in Construction or similar
- Experience in working with a diverse range of people and positions
