Branch Fitting Technician

Job Description:

The purpose of the position will be marking up, blocking and cutting of lenses to fit in customer’s frames. 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Marking the correct axis
• Checking if correct lenses & coatings were supplied
• Checking the powers of lenses
• Mark the lenses L and R
• Ensure jobs are scanned into Edge station 112
• Scan jobs on blocker
• Ensure barcode numbers are correct
• Ensure the correct barcode buttons are used
• Ensure the lenses are correct
• Ensure that ARC protection tape is put on when needed
• Ensure that the correct jobs are cut on the correct machines
• Cut L & R lenses
• Ensure jobs are grooved & chamfered correctly
• Full frame fitting
• Nylon fitting
• Rimless fitting
• Mounting F.C
• Repairs

Educational requirements:

• Grade 12

Experience and skills required:

• 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of:  marking up; blocking; cutting; 3Dlt and grooving; Chamfer; Full Frame Fitting; Nylon Fitting, 3-piece Fitting, Repairs, Mount Final Inspection
