National Diploma in Sales Management
Diploma in Sales Management or Business Management would be an advantage.
Degree or Post Graduate Degree would be an advantage

Minimum 5 years’ experience using Microsoft packages

Minimum 2 years’ experience in sales in construction industry
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management position
Main purpose of the Job
Manage Branch within allocated region. Ensures consistent profitable growth in sales revenues through
effective planning and management of sales and operational personnel. Identifies objectives, strategies and
action plans to improve short – and long – term objectives and strategies.

Staff Management
Plan and direct staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control all staff members
Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company
products, and to provide sales support.
Maintains sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintains sales staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and
appraising job results.
Provides quarterly results assessments of sales and operational staff’s productivity.
Educates sales team by establishing programs/seminars in the areas of new account sales and growth, sales of
emerging products and multi-product sales, profitability, improved presentation strategies, competitive
strategies, proper use and level of sales support, management of expenses and business/financial issues on
contracts.
Holds regular meeting with sales staff.
Responsible for obtaining profitable results through the branch team by developing the team through
motivation, counselling, skills development and product knowledge development.
Responsible for managing the sales and operational teams.
Ensure that all sales representative activities are in accordance with the companies’ policies and procedures.
Responsible for the planning, recruitment, direction, organization and control of branch personnel.
Responsible for monitoring the performance of the sales team by holding regular performance appraisals and
performance management.
Customer Focus
Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
Confer or consult with direct reports to plan advertising services and to secure information on stock and
customer specifications.
Confer with potential customers regarding their needs and advise customers on stock available.
Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs.
Confer with customers and engineers to assess future needs.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products to customers and prospective customers.
Build and maintain positive healthy relationships with all customers and prospective customers.
General / Administration
Prepare budgets and approve budget expenditures.
Determines annual gross-profit plans by implementing sales strategies; analyzing trends and results.
Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas; projecting expected sales
volume and profit.
Implements sales programs by developing sales action plans.
Maintains sales volume by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators,
and competitors.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional
publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.
Develops specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all products.
Coordinates proper resources to ensure efficient and stable sales results.
Formulates sales policies, practices and procedures.
Collaborates with Regional Manager to develop sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines.
Interprets short- and long-term effects on sales strategies in operating profit.
Collaborates with Regional Manager to establish and control budgets for sales promotions.
Reviews all expenses.
Manage the sales administration function, operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and
systems wherever possible.
Developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and
promoting the organizations’ presence throughout the region.
