Business Development

SUMMARY:
A national aluminium products distributor is looking for a customer-driven Business Development Representative to join their sales team. The successful candidate will be based in Johannesburg.

POSITION INFO:

Duties and Responsibilities:

This role revolves around building relationships with customers primarily on a face-to-face basis, to understand the nature of each customer’s business and how the company can best support these customers.

 Main focus areas include:

 Sales

Understanding customers’ needs

Growing basket of assigned customers

Acquiring new customers

Growing the network of active distributors

Growing spend of distributors

 Stock

Reducing excess, slow moving and redundant stock per agreed targets

Propose clear recommendations on product development monthly

 Market intel

Providing clear, intelligible and relevant feedback on the market with clear conclusions and tactics to maximise market share and profitability

Capture all customer visit interactions on CRM daily

 People

Living out the Company’s core values

Proving clear and consistent feedback to line manager

 Personal Attributes Required

Commercially astute and can work well in a fast paced and competitive environment

High energy and customer service oriented

Demonstrable sales and admin competence

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Technical proficiency and appetite to understand the product and customers’ business

3 to 5 years’ experience in a technical/hardware environment would be advantageous

Must reside in Johannesburg

 Package & Remuneration:

Basic salary (up to R360 000 per annum)
