SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Self Motivated, Sales and Business Development Professional to join our Clients team within the Logistics and Freight Industry Sector.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our Client is a South African-based logistics company, founded in 2006 with the objective of providing a fully integrated and expertly managed transport & logistics service in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, helping companies with their logistics and supply chain management.

Our Client has years of hands-on experience in the transport and logistics industry and understand the challenges their clients face daily.  The two things they ensure are a reduction in transport & logistics costs and the best possible service on offer.


We are looking for a Sales / Business Development Professional to join the team!

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and confident enough to be a pioneer in the industry, but also has a team around them to make the difference.  This person will be relied upon to take our concept and grow a customer base. 

The successful incumbent will be surrounded by a supportive team from various departments including finance, pricing, operations control as well as marketing in order to efficiently and effectively look after each client.

 Key Performance Areas will include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively consult with clients to understand their logistics and supply chain needs through a solutions-based selling approach.
  • Be able to create value-driven solutions, built on deep research and a full understanding of the client''s end to end, order to cash cycle. These solutions will encompass multiple Flexport services.
  • Coordinate Customer RFPs by administering pricing while delivering the TSI value proposition.
  • Navigate an enterprise sales process by building relationships with multiple stakeholders through remote and face-to-face meetings.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients with a diverse set of backgrounds from end to end.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth by having a thorough understanding of TSI diversified, and growing product line while retaining and expanding revenue within the book of business.
  • Collaborate with TSI client operations teams to identify upsell opportunities, source pipeline, and develop strategic account plans.

Minimum preferred requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in a client-facing role.
  • 5+ years of experience in freight sales with a proven track record in not only meeting but exceeding set targets.
  • BA/BS degree.
  • Competitive and creative drive to win over customers and think outside the box to get a deal done.
  • Demonstrated ability to run a sales meeting and structured sales process.
  • Proven success building and maintaining long term commercial relationships.
  • A naturally curious and inquisitive approach to client discovery
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to connect in both virtual and face-to-face environments.
  • An obsession with client happiness. You succeed when they succeed!
  • The intellectual horsepower and curiosity to learn a new way of operating in an old industry.
  • Courage to challenge the internal and external status quo when logic and reason require it. “See something broken? Fix it”.
