JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a Gauteng based software company that specialises in developing and engineering software solutions for the Logistics Industry. They continuously strive to be market leaders in the efficient and effective delivery of business-critical software systems.

Our client is currently looking for Software Engineers with skills in low-level software development. Useful skills include C, on Linux and Unix platforms as well as Pascal on VMS as well as the use of modern software development tools.

Their Software Development team is flexible, open to new challenges, technically proficient and committed to professional service delivery. The ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues is essential, as is being a determined and self-motivated learner. The Software Engineers are given the technical support they require and, because of their flat organisational structure, will work with colleagues at all levels of the business.

They offer training programmes and mentoring from day one. The flexible working environment encourages a good work-life balance. You will be given the opportunity to work on a variety of innovative and challenging projects across different industry sectors. As the Software Engineers work with a range of technologies, they gain in-depth experience of the technology involved and “hands on” deployment in real operational environments.

Essential requirements

Tertiary IT Qualification (Degree or Diploma)
Fluent in English (both spoken and written)
A team player with a strong commitment to continuous learning
You like a challenge and are willing to take accountability and responsibility
C on Linux X86
Pascal on VMS
Linux and Unix
Experience of real-time environments
Experience of warehousing solutions, mechatronics and/or robotics would be advantageous
