Job Description
Responsibilities include, but shall not be limited to:
Looking after and hosting guests throughout their stay to ensure they have the opportunity to experience all that the Resort offers, that they have a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and that they leave with good memories of the property and the people. Have a complete picture of guest requirements and likes and dislikes to advise team and plan for them accordingly. Be the person they know they can ask for advice on the area, or run to first with a problem or issue. Anticipate their needs before they arise if you can. Ensuring that guest arrivals and departures run smoothly, including:
the welcome, explaining the ins and outs of the resort, check in, check out, check arrival rooms, ensure/assist with correct room allocation, welcome drinks and towels, check guest bills and help to prepare, notes to rooms (arrival, departure, other special one-off notes). Check departure rooms for missed items, co-ordinate guest transfers with Heli pilots/CFA/boats, co-ordinate and plan any group arrivals and departures and their itineraries while at the Resort. Assist with and co-ordinate trade and press site inspections. Managing porters and drivers; coordinating use of vehicles with Activities team
General office duties to assist the FOH team. Help out generally as required, including covering for other staff members on days off. Check with hosts regarding special guest requests. Update team at morning briefing on guest information. Check on guests at meal times. Ensure everything set for the evening, that tables, lanterns and candles are arranged to good effect, menus typed and printed, assist with stock takes, ordering and procurement as required. Hosting guests in the Star Bar from 7.00pm until guests go to dinner. Work closely with Spa and Activities managers to plan the following day’s activities. Run the FOH in the evening on scheduled days (1 or 2 nights per week), including running the pass and final closing at 11pm.Collate guest feedback from evaluation forms for review with managers, produce a monthly summary. Monthly stationary stock take. Monthly management report. Assisting the Resort team where possible, which may include helping out in other areas from time to time when short staffed. Acting in the best interests of the Company at all times, assisting the wider Resort team where possible, and contributing to a positive environment.
Qualifications
- Matric
- Diploma in Hospitality Management and Guest Relations Management
Skills
Minimum 10 years experience working in Resorts or Private Reserves. Microsoft office capable. Ability to lead a team with out needing a guide. Admin strong in front of house and back of house. Guest readiness. Strong leadership skills. Hygiene and Safety training and accredited.
