Job Description
What the role entails
The manager is responsible for overseeing the entire lodge which consists of an 8 room lodge and 4 room villa. The role is made of varying responsibilities including:
- Management of the team: To manage the operational team in line with company values and policies
- Communication: Effective communication at all levels within the company, the team and other departments
- Guest Experience and Standards: Ensure the guest experience meets our standards and the guests expectations are met and exceeded and each guest leaves having had a memorable experience
- Safety Procedures: Ensure the security and health & safety of our guests, staff and other visitors by following all company procedures.
- Budget Control: Implement systems along with manager to control all costs in line with budget
- Planning: To effectively plan ahead to ensure the smooth running of the lodge and allow sufficient time for support departments to schedule effectively.
Qualifications
- Matric
- Diploma in Hospitality Management
- FAGASA Level 1 or higher
- PDP permit
- First aid level 1
Skills
Minimum 5 years Game Lodge Management Experience, Hospitality and Service Training Experience, Energetic, proactive person with well-developed concept of the importance of providing a world-class guest experience, and the ability to provide that experience, Passionate about sustainable tourism and conservation, Driven, energetic, compassionate and ambitious, with strong leadership and mentoring skills, Unrelenting attention to detail and high standards, Structured manager with experience of leading diverse teams, Open minded and able to think outside of the box, The ability to motivate and inspire yourself and others, Excellent interpersonal skills and communication, Competent financial and IT skills.
