Job title: CIMA Traineeship
Job Overview:
Our client is a professional services firm and they are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented CIMA Trainee to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible to manage the financial tasks for a range of clients, including recording accounting transactions, reconciling bank statements, producing monthly management accounts and annual financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management:
- Billable Work: Maintain accurate financial records, including recording transactions, managing accounts payable/receivable, and performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations. Produce monthly management reports, provide client analysis, ensure compliance with financial regulations, prepare annual financial statements and tax calculations, and perform ad hoc financial analysis.
- Client Communication & Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service by proactively engaging with clients, addressing inquiries promptly, and delivering timely financial information.
- Client Needs Identification & Solution Offering:
- Develop a deep understanding of clients’ financial situations, identify additional financial needs, and suggest suitable Finovate service offerings such as Advisory, Fractional FM, and Fractional CFO services.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Identify and implement process improvements, ensure quality standards, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Team Collaboration & Professional Growth:
- Collaborate on team projects, pursue continuous professional development, and actively communicate personal growth goals with supervisors.
Key Requirements (Qualifications, Experience, Skills preferred)
- Diploma or degree in accounting or bookkeeping, or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations in South Africa.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero (Xero experience is beneficial).
- Excellent communication skills and effective client relationship management.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Location: In office role, Somerset West. *Hybrid option available after 3 months
Employment type: CIMA traineeship.
Salary: Market related depending on contract type and experience, R15 000-R20 000 CTC per month.
