Call Centre Agents (x 3 - 12 Months Contract - Wits GRT)

POSITION INFO:

Main purpose of the job:

• To perform telephonic data collection tasks from households in the Gauteng Research Triangle (GRT-Inspired, including Hillbrow, Melusi and Atteridgeville West)

Location:

• Wits School of Public Health, Parktown - Johannesburg

Key performance areas:

• Administer the questionnaire telephonically and simultaneously enter information into the relevant database
• Ensure daily telephonic data collection targets are met
• Identify and escalate priority issues
• Route calls to appropriate resource
• Document all call information according to standard operating procedures
• Participate in regular and ad hoc training and meetings for data collection
• Educate research participants on GRT Inspired research activities
• Conduct any other duties assigned by the line manager

Required minimum education and training:

• Grade 12

Required minimum work experience:

• Minimum 1-year experience as fieldworker or call centre agent.

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:

• Fieldwork or call centre work experience will be an advantage
• Good voice projection
• Good data capturing and typing skills
• Empathy with the respondent is vital
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team
