We are currently recruiting for qualified insurance agents with at least 12 months comprehensive car and home insurance experience.
Two key differentiators: Previously appointed on the FSCA register vs First time Registration
First time Registration on the FSCA register:
New agents, who have never been on the register before, you need to achieve the following requirements in the prescribed period. Should the agents not achieve these milestones, they will not be permitted to sell, irrespective of advice or non-advice. This is referred to as being outside the DOFA period.
- Class of Business exams (COB) - 1 Year (12 months) from first date of registration on rep register.
- Regulatory Examination (RE) - 2 Year (24 months) from first date of registration on rep register.
- FAIS Qualification (Short term) - 4 Years(48 months) from first date of registration on rep register.
If an agent was previously appointed on the FSCA register, the date of appointment differentiates the requirement. The date to be mindful of is, 01 April 2018.
If the agent was appointed prior to 01 April 2018, they are exempted from the COB exams, but may be required to evidence prior learning(RPL). If the agent was appointed after 01 April 2018, they are required to have the COB exams completed. The following requirements must be met within the prescribed period. Should the agents not achieve these milestones, they will not be permitted to sell, irrespective of advice or non-advice. This is referred to as being outside the DOFA period.
