SUMMARY:
My client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CATIA Designer to join their engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, drawings, and design specifications using CATIA (Computer-Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application) software.

Key Responsibilities:
- 3D Modeling and Design: Create accurate and detailed 3D models, assemblies, and components using CATIA software, following industry standards and project requirements.
- Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams, to develop innovative product designs from concept through production.
- Technical Drawings: Generate 2D and 3D technical drawings, layouts, and assembly instructions for parts and products, ensuring clarity and precision.
- Design Optimization: Analyze and optimize designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance. Suggest design improvements and participate in design reviews.
- Simulation & Analysis: Perform basic simulations and analysis (e.g., stress tests, material analysis) using CATIA tools to ensure product reliability and compliance with engineering standards.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with project teams to ensure timely delivery of design outputs, meeting deadlines and project milestones.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of design revisions, updates, and project changes. Ensure that all design files are properly stored and organized.
- Compliance: Ensure designs meet applicable safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a CATIA Designer or a similar role in a design or manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 or V6 (or other related CAD software).
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, product development processes, and manufacturing techniques.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with 3D modeling, surface modeling, and parametric design.
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
