Cellar Assistant

This is an ideal position for an individual who aspires to follow a career in the wine industry and to develop to a professional level through practical experience and formal studies by joining Windmeul’s dynamic production team as a Cellar Assistant. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in every aspect of wine production, working as part of a skilled team of winemakers.

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

• Assisting in wine making processes
• Sanitation and cleaning of equipment
• Punch downs / pump overs
• Wine movements
• Additions
• Draining and pressing of tanks
• Analysing juice- and wine samples

Requirements:

• Matric
• Good communication skills (English; Afrikaans will be advantageous)
• Reliability and punctuality
• Willingness to work long hours (overtime; weekends; night shifts; public holidays)
• Innovative personality
• Eager to learn
• Team player
