Civil Technician

SUMMARY:
Durban based tertiary institution is seeking a dynamic individual, to start immediately, with BOQ and upgrades and maintenance experience. Must be based in Durban and available immediately. This is only a 3-month contract.

Durban based tertiary institution is seeking a dynamic individual, to start immediately, with BOQ and upgrades and maintenance experience. Must be based in Durban and available immediately. This is only a 3-month contract.

Main job function

Civil Project for a Technician with 6 sites in Durban, this will be to assess all repairs, maintenance and upgrades that is needed and to draft the BOQ and specifications for the sites.

This employment will be 3 monthly contracts.

Responsibilities are as follows:

• Assess the Roof and identify areas of maintenance.
• Prepare maintenance plan for all sites.
• Draft specification for maintenance and building projects.
• Advise and seat in the specification committee for maintenance projects.
• Provide report to management and governance structure on maintenance project and building projects.
• Policy development
• Manage building project and maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• Ndip: Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying

Criteria

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in facilities and building projects
• Have managed building and civil projects over R2mil.
• MS Project experience
• Computer literate
• Experience in bill of costs for Projects
