The Opportunity
This role is ideal for an experienced print technician who thrives in a
fast-paced environment and enjoys working with cutting-edge digital printing technology. You will be responsible for ensuring
optimal colour accuracy, quality control, and technical troubleshooting while providing
top-class customer service and operator training.
Key Responsibilities
- Printer Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine servicing, repairs, and calibration of professional colour production print devices.
- Colour Management: Develop and implement customised colour workflows to meet customer requirements, ensuring repeatable and consistent production results.
- Print Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks, monitor paper quality, and make necessary adjustments to maintain high print standards.
- Technical Support: Provide expert technical assistance to operators and customers, efficiently resolving colour-related issues.
- Training & Documentation: Train operators on printer operation, maintenance, calibration, and colour profiling while maintaining clear documentation of settings and workflows.
What You Bring
- 3 – 5+ years of experience in digital colour printing and colour management.
- Strong understanding of colour theory, ICC profiling, and advanced colour management.
- Proficiency in colour printer operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with colour management software (e.g., Adobe Color, EFI Colour Profiler Suite, PrismaSync Tools).
- Familiarity with design software used in print production (Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Inkscape).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to train and support operators.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Certificate or Diploma in Printing Technology, Colour Management, or a related field.
- Industry certifications in colour management or printing technology.
- Experience with high-end production printers, including Canon Pro Series or similar brands.
- Knowledge of print production workflows and software such as Adobe Creative Suite and CorelDRAW.
