Cost Estimator

Designer of modular and custom structures of lightweight building systems seeks to appoint a Cost Estimator at their premises in Cape Town.

For the position you would be required to have:

• Degree in COST ACCOUNTING, CONSTRUCTION OR QUANTITY SURVEYING
• Around 4 years' experience working in MANUFACTURING as a Cost Estimator
• Proficient in Data Analysis, Advanced Excel and Costing Methodologies
• Understanding of INCO terms, freight costs and ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of construction technologies and raw materials

Responsibilities would include you to:

• Cost products from concept to handover including raw materials, design, manufacture, project management, freight and site services
• Formulate and maintain product costing databases
• Collaborate and coordinate with product design and supply chain and define BOQ's, product specs, supply and manufacture pricing to populate costing databases
• Prepare cost estimates for products through design phase, delivering updated costs at design milestones to assess value engineering
• Provide recommendations and improve cost-price models
• Prepare quotations on products using approved pricing framework
