Costing Clerk - Kempton Park

SUMMARY:
The Costing Clerk will be responsible for processing, maintaining, and analyzing data used for costing determinations and financial reports. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting for the heavy earthmoving equipment and components industry.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Tracking: Monitor and record costs related to labor, materials, and overheads for various projects.
• Data Analysis: Analyze cost data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost reduction.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed cost reports and summaries for management review.
• Invoice Verification and final Costing: Ensure all invoices and supporting documentation are accurately Captured and costed to correct jobs to compare accuracy job costing.
• Discrepancy Investigation: To investigate all jobs where the costing does not correlate with the initial budgeted costings and to implement improvement measures to ensure more accurate costing.
• Budget Comparison: Compare actual costs to budgeted costs and report discrepancies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with accounts payable, payroll, and purchasing departments to ensure accurate cost allocation.
• Customer Billing: Assist in preparing customer billings based on job cost reports.
• Compliance: Ensure all costing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.

• Education:
• Minimum of a high school diploma; an associate degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in cost accounting or bookkeeping are advantageous.
• Experience:
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the heavy equipment or manufacturing industry.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Knowledge of Industry: Familiarity with the heavy earthmoving equipment and components industry is highly desirable.
