SUMMARY:
We are currently assisting our client in recruiting for a Creditors Clerk.

POSITION INFO:
Job Summary
The Creditors Clerk is responsible for all aspects of the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Invoice Processing:
• Receive, verify, and code supplier invoices for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure invoices are properly authorized and supported by purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers.
• Enter invoices into the accounting system (e.g., Xero, Sage).
• Supplier Payments:
• Prepare and process supplier payments (e.g., EFT, cheques).
• Ensure timely payment of invoices within agreed-upon terms.
• Maintain accurate records of all supplier payments.
• Supplier Reconciliation:
• Reconcile supplier statements with company records.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate supplier records in the accounting system.
• Credit Notes:
• Process supplier credit notes and ensure they are properly recorded.
• Month-end Procedures:
• Assist with month-end closing procedures, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Other Duties:
• Assist with other accounting tasks as required.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

• Matric/Grade 12
• Diploma in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a creditors clerk role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables)
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
