Job Title: Creditors Clerk
Location: Nottingham Road
Company Overview:
Our client is a reputable organization seeking a dedicated Creditors Clerk to join their finance team. This role is essential for processing and managing accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely payments to suppliers, reconciling statements, and addressing supplier queries.
Key Responsibilities:
Processing Supplier Invoices:
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and receiving reports.
- Ensure accurate data entry of invoices.
- Allocate invoices to the correct accounts.
Managing Payments:
- Prepare and process payments to suppliers.
- Ensure payments are made on time and in accordance with payment terms.
- Load payments onto the online banking system.
Reconciling Statements:
- Perform monthly supplier reconciliations.
- Investigate discrepancies between invoices and statements.
Handling Supplier Queries:
- Respond to supplier queries regarding payments and invoices.
- Follow up on unpaid invoices and outstanding issues.
Maintaining Records:
- Maintain accurate records of supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
- Load new creditors onto the online banking system.
Other Duties:
- Assist with other accounting tasks as needed.
- Prepare reports and analysis as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- Minimum matric (high school diploma).
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or finance.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong organisational and accuracy skills.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills.
- Computer literacy, particularly with accounting software and MS Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Other:
- Understanding of age analysis and general ledger structures.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Information:
- Staff transport can be provided from Howick, Pietermaritzburg, or Estcourt.
