SUMMARY:
Our client that provides health care diagnostic solutions like blood screening, core lab, molecular labs, pathology labs etc is currently looking for a Data Analyst to join their team based in Brackenfell, Western Cape on a Fixed Term Contract.

POSITION INFO:
Position: Data Analyst

Location: Brackenfell, Western Cape

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

Summary:

A professional who collects, cleans, and analyzes data to uncover insights that can be used to make informed business decisions for our clients company. They play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision-making within organization.

Minimum Qualifying Criteria:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Data Science Economics, or a similar quantitative discipline. A Master’s Degree would be a plus
3-5 years of experience in data analysis or a related field, ideally in the area of Procurement or Supply Chain
Demonstrated experience through projects or previous roles showcasing the ability to handle data and derive insights.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Focus Areas

Data Collection:

Gathering data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and web scraping
Ensuring data quality and accuracy

Data Cleaning and Preparation:

Identifying and correcting errors, inconsistencies, and missing values
Transforming data into a suitable format for analysis

Data Analysis:

Employing statistical methods and data visualization techniques to analyze data
Identifying trends, patterns, and correlations

Reporting and Communication:

Creating clear and concise reports that summarize findings and insights
Communicating results to stakeholders, including management, executives, and other team members
Additional Activities

Data Visualization:

Developing visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards) to effectively communicate data-driven stories.
Using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel.

Problem-Solving:

Applying analytical skills to solve business problems and answer questions.
Identifying opportunities for improvement based on data analysis.

Analytical Skills

Trend Analysis: Competence in identifying trends, patterns, and correlations within data.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address business questions and uncover opportunities for improvement.

Soft Skills

Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to work with stakeholders on different levels. Ability to create clear and concise reports that summarize findings and insights.
Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams, including collaborating with business analysts, and internal stakeholders (e.g. procurement professionals), and leadership teams.
