SUMMARY:
Our client, an engineering firm that operates nationally, is recruiting for a skilled Data Engineer and Analyst.

POSITION INFO:
Data Engineer and Analyst
Cape Town, Remote
2-Year Contract

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related

Requirements:

More than 2 years of experience
Strong analytical abilities with familiarity in data analysis tools like Pandas and NumPy
Experience working with ETL tools and processes
Solid understanding of business processes and financial systems
Proficient in SQL with hands-on experience using automation tools like Power BI or Tableau
Skilled in using web scraping tools such as BeautifulSoup and Scrapy, along with experience in ETL processes
Advanced proficiency in MS Office and Excel

KPA’s:

Design and manage data infrastructure while conducting analyses to drive informed business decisions
Import and query data using SQL
Develop and maintain automated reports and dashboards
Enhance business processes through technical solutions
Leverage knowledge of financial systems to improve reporting accuracy
Write clear and concise reports
Perform database administration and ensure data integrity
Analyse and resolve data discrepancies
Conduct inspections, participate in meetings, and engage in testing and design reviews
Develop and maintain web crawlers for data extraction
Extract, clean, and analyse web data to identify trends and insights
Design and implement ETL processes to consolidate and integrate data from various sources
Handle ad-hoc tasks as needed
