Deal Executive

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Deal Executive to join our growing team. This individual will play a key role in analyzing and modeling financial information, supporting deal-sourcing, conducting due diligence, and monitoring portfolio performance.

POSITION INFO:
The role offers exposure to the full lifecycle of investment transactions, including identification, negotiation, execution, and exit. In addition, the Investment Executive will provide valuable input on corporate governance initiatives for investee companies and serve on the boards of select investments.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Participate in all stages of the investment process: from deal identification, negotiation, closing, and ongoing portfolio monitoring, to eventual exit.
• Assist in implementing value-enhancing initiatives and establishing corporate governance practices within investee companies.
• Lead the initiation of investments in areas aligned with the firm’s investment strategy.
• Maintain and leverage a substantial professional network for deal-sourcing and industry insights.
• Contribute to the governance of the firm by preparing reports and updates for investors.
• Conduct thorough due diligence, valuation assessments, and financial modeling for potential investments.
• Analyze market trends and investment opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
• Support the structuring of investments, and provide assistance in managing negotiations.
• Assist in research and coordination of various transaction-related activities.

• A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
• Typically 5+ years of experience within corporate finance, investment management, merchant banking, or private equity.
• Proven experience in identifying, negotiating, closing, and monitoring investment transactions.
• Strong understanding of key commercial regulations and statutes, including tax laws and the Companies Act.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling software.
• Excellent knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and investment analysis.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, investors, and portfolio companies.
