Debtors Clerk

SUMMARY:
Seeking Accounts Receivable Clerk with experience in major retailer debtors.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

1. Grade 12
2. Accounting / Financial tertiary qualification
3. At least 5 years of experience dealing with debtors
4. Debtors / financial experience dealing with major retailers (PnP, Checkers, Spar, Woolworths)
5. Bookkeeping and cashbook experience

•  Daily reconciliation of incoming payments against debtor age analysis.
• Process cash and accounts payments, allocating funds as per customer reconciliations.
• Manage petty cash and perform monthly reconciliations.
• Open new accounts upon credit approval.
• Monitor account activity to ensure compliance with credit limits and customer terms.
• Identify and report high-risk accounts.
• Balance intergroup customer accounts.
• Follow up on overdue payments to maintain target debtor days.
• Send monthly statements to customers with due or overdue accounts.
• Maintain accurate and organised filing systems for all received documentation
